Fortunately the snow is almost gone but I took advantage of the last few sunny days and photographed some 2011 senior models out in the snow. During Abbe’s session the sun was setting and I was able to capture a cool image of her the sun behind her. Can’t wait for spring!!

I had a great week photographing my newest senior models for the class of 2011! They were all a lot of fun to work with and had their own unique personalities and I think it really shows in the photographs. Since we had a snow day we had the chance to go outside and have some fun in the deep snow. I’m really looking forward to next week!

Every year I go to an event to study with the best photographers in the country. Last year I went to the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International convention in Las Vegas and focused on improving my wedding photography. This January I went to the Senior Portrait Artists event in San Diego. It was a fantastic opportunity to work and study with the best photographers in the country. They also have a senior modeling contest and all the winners were the models for the event. I learned new lighting techniques and now have the equipment to do fashion lighting like you see in all the top magazines. It will be an exciting new look for this year! I am now able to enter any of my seniors into the modeling contest and the winners will get free airfare and hotel to the event next January. I love Christmas weddings! Everything is always decorated beautifully and Kathleen and Sal’s wedding was no exception. The hall looked amazing and so did Kathleen! The weather cooperated so we were able to go outside for a few minutes before it got too cold. They had so many family and friends there I thought there would be no room on the dance floor but it all worked out. The band LaFlavour keep everyone dancing all night long!

Katlyn is a senior I recently photographed. She used to live in the area but now lives in Columbus. When her friend told her about me and she saw some images of seniors with their prom dresses in the water she knew she wanted to come here. I told her I did those in the summer but she didn’t care about the cold! She drove up last Thursday night and we did the session Friday afternoon. She was lucky that the sun was shining and was about 40 degrees.

Christine and Steve were married October 24th in Youngstown. I arrived at her house early and we had plenty of time to get some amazing photographs of Christine by herself. After the wedding we stopped at Mill Creek Park for a little fun and some fall color. They got lucky and picked a beautiful day. I was so impressed with Steve because before the ceremony, I heard someone ask him how it was going and he said “I just want everything to be perfect for Christine”. That really shows how much he cares about her!

I finally have my computer issues resolved and can catch up on my posts! It was great to be back at Raintree Country Club again and Amy & Shawn picked a beautiful (but cold) day for their wedding. We were on the golf course having fun even though the black sky looked like it could break loose on us at any minute. I had them stand on a hill with some pretty fall colors behind them and suddenly the sun breaks out and shines it golden rays on them right at that moment!

Rana and Matt wanted an outdoor fall wedding and they found a great place at Coventry Oaks Metro Park. Rana’s dad built a stage and pillars that served as a great backdrop for the ceremony. Their bridal party was a wild group and we captured some fun images of them goofing around before the reception.

You know how everyone tells a bride that if it rains on her wedding day, it’s good luck? Well, Angela and Tony are going to be the luckiest couple I know! It rained a lot that day but fortunately it held off while they came out through the bubbles after the ceremony. It was on and off the rest of the afternoon….but mostly it was on. They had a beautiful ceremony though and had all their closest family and friends there to help them celebrate. I photographed Tony’s sisters wedding 4 years ago so it was great to see Amy and Mark again.
