Trash-the-suit?

I started “trash-the-dress” sessions here last year to see how seniors would respond and it’s turning out to be quite popular. In fact I see other studios doing it now too! I wanted to do something different and fun for guys too so I thought, why not “trash-the-suit”? I photographed Scott’s sister 2 years ago and when he came here I found out he had a boat and the idea came to life! Scott put on an old suit and tie and we hit the water for a pretty fun session!

Raintree Country Club

Cody and Kelli held their wedding and reception at Raintree Country Club. The ceremony was right on the driving range and I was able to capture Cody’s expression as he saw Kelli for the first time as she walked down the aisle. As she walked past me I caught him closing his eyes as he was overcome with emotion! You could see the love in Kelli’s eyes as she made her vows and stared intently into cody’s eyes. It was a beautiful sight!

It was nice to get back into the Cleveland area again. There are so many nice locations there that I love to go to. One of them is Wade Park by the Art Museum. It’s a gorgeous spot but many times overrun with bridal parties! It was so hot when we arrived there weren’t that many people there though. Because of the heat, we didn’t stay there long and headed to the Marriot East for some air and good food.

Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens

It was great to be back at Stan Hywet again this year! Tiffany and Chad had their wedding in the Tea Houses at the end of Birch Alley. It’s an amazing spot with a long dramatic entrance for Tiffany. We had a couple of hours to walk around and take some great photographs. It was good to see the west terrace open again and be able to use the overlook!

Fieldcrest of North Canton

Stacy and Brandon were a lot of fun to work with! Their wedding was at St. John the Baptist in Canton which is a beautiful old church. I had never been to Fieldcrest before but was amazed at how cool it was. It looked like an old hunting lodge and had lots of great places for photography

2011 Akron Area Senior Pictures

It’s really turning out to be a fantastic year for seniors. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some really fun people! They’ve been taking my advice on clothing (so they look really good) and bringing things with them that really make their photographs personal. I’m booking into August already so I know when school starts, it’s going to be really crazy around here! Here’s a few images from the past couple of weeks.

Butterfly Kisses!

Karrisa and Andrew wanted to release butterflies as they walked out of the church. I wasn’t sure how it was all going to work out but it turned out amazing! The butterflies were huge and instantly took off from their boxes and flew all around. One landed on Karrisa’s bouquet and stayed there long enough to get a few cool images with it. The reception was in their barn which was decorated so beautifully it was breathtaking. It was catered by Ken Stewart so the food and service was outstanding. Every detail was so perfect, I’ve never been to an outdoor event quite like it!

Guys Party Center

I had the privilege of photographing Marcia and Joe’s engagement session and they were so easy to work with and photogenic that I couldn’t wait for their wedding! They were worried about the rain but it held off long enough for us to go to the Gorge park where they got engaged. It was sweltering hot that day but we had a nice long walk through the woods back to an old bridge.

Tangiers Party Center

I’ve photographed Greg as a groomsman in several weddings over the past two years and now it was his turn. He and Tammy had their wedding at St. Augustine’s in Barberton. After the wedding, we headed across the street to Lake Anna for some fun with the bridal party. I have been to Tangiers many times but have never seen it decorated as well as it was that night. They really went all out and it looked amazing!

Spring Lake Party Center

Pete and Leanne were a lot of fun to work with! They brought several unique things to the wedding, hats, cigars, and a bagpiper. They also brought cheerios which they threw instead of rice. After the ceremony we went to a private lake to hang out with the bridal party for a while and had some fun. The reception was at Spring Lake Party Center which usually has great opportunities for sunset photographs. Pete and Leanne love their iPhones and wanted to get a photograph with those, so we did!
