It was great to see the Dalton family again! It’s been a while since her sister Ashley and Steve were married. Emily and Andy had their wedding in a vineyard and they couldn’t have asked for better weather (maybe a little cooler though!). It’s a beautiful setting with gardens, a waterfall and the vineyards. After the ceremony they snuck off to the hospital to see her grandmother who couldn’t make it to the ceremony. That shows how caring and compassionate they both are! The reception was at Guys Party Center in the south ballroom. As is usual with their family, they had a great party and everyone had a blast!
I first photographed Jen as a high school senior a few years ago so naturally I was excited to hear she was getting married! Jen and Casey were married at St. Mary’s in Massillon which has been around since the late 1800’s. It is a beautiful place to get married and to worship in. Jen’s grandparents have been married 68 years and were able to make it to the wedding and reception. I’ve never met anyone that’s been married that long! It was beautiful to watch him greet his grandaughter and hug her on her special day!

I’m finishing up the last of the 2011 senior models and had a few 2010 seniors lately too. This year is turning out to be another good one. Almost all the session times are booked for the month of June already! Here’s a few recent images.
I love weddings at Stan Hywet and Kara and Steve couldn’t have asked for better weather! They decided to do most of the photographs before the ceremony so they could spend more time with their family and friends at the reception. They saw each other for the first time that day in the english gardens. It’s a romantic spot and was an emotional moment for both of them. The ceremony was at the tea houses at the end of birch alley. The long birch covered walkway made a dramatic entrance for Kara. The reception was in the main house which has just been renovated and it looked amazing! It was decorated beautiffuly with some great lighing accents like their names spotlit on the dance floor.
I was really worried about the weather Saturday as it looked like it could rain any minute. It was cold and very windy, especially if your wearing a dress! (I wore a suit in case you’re wondering) Deena and Mark were married at St. Sebastian’s in Akron. After the ceremony we headed to an old bridge on Market street and then to High Bridge Glens park. It’s a beautiful location that just opened. It has great views of the Cuyahoga River and offered protection from the wind. We moved to Riverfont Park for some more fun and then to the reception at the Akron City Center Hotel. They had all their friends with them in a huge limo bus and they were so much fun to work with. In fact I will see many of them again in July at Tiffany and Chad’s wedding! See you then!
Deena really wanted to get an image of her and Mark reflected in water. Finding a puddle wasn’t too difficult that day!
Mark and Deena love to play cards so they gave everyone decks of cards as favors. That inspired my idea for their “end of the night” photograph. I used 2 flashlights for this image.
I had some really unique seniors this past week! Rene is in auto mechanics so we created a great image of her working on a car in her prom dress. Hailey wants to be a veterinarian and work with horses. The weather wasn’t good enough yet to photograph her with her horse so we did some in my barn. Lauren loves to read Harry Potter novels so we did something really different with lots of candles. Makera likes to watch America’s Next Model and we got a lot of great looks from her.
I’m finally caught up and everything’s back to normal again! I still have quite a few class of 2011 senior models to photograph before May gets here though. I can’t wait until everything greens up and the flowers all start blooming so I can get out of the studio and enjoy some nature!
It’s finally spring again! This spring break got so busy here I got a little behind on my blogging. I worked with some really fun seniors over the past 2 weeks. If this is any indication of what summer holds…it’s gonna be a great summer!!
I really enjoy creating images for seniors that display their personality and their interests. This past week I had the opportunity to capture some unique images that really show off what they are in to. Katie is in choir and drama club, likes to sing and has some vintage clothes that brought it all together. Maggie studies Cosmotology and plans to work in her mothers salon when she graduates. Ashlee loves to downhill skii. We still had some snow and the setting sun behind her made an amazing image. Riane’s dad is in the fire department and wanted something to honor what he does so we worked together and created this image.
